- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- good pinch salt
Directions

1Soften butter to room temperature.

2Mix other ingredients thoroughly into butter; use hands, if necessary.

3Pinch off small pieces of mixture; roll into balls the size of large marbles. Place on cookie sheet.

4Make a small depression in each; fill this with some tart jelly or preserves.

5Bake in a 350° oven.

6Watch carefully, as they burn easily.
