  • 1/2 lb. butter, softened (not margarine)
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.

    Add 2 eggs and beat.

    Add flour and beat, then add 1 egg at a time, beating after each one.

    Add vanilla.

    The more you beat, the lighter your cake will be.

    Pour into a greased tube pan and bake at 350° for 1 hour, or until done.
