Butter Pound Cake

- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Cream butter, shortening and sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy.

2Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

3Add flour alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.

4Mix vanilla, salt and baking powder in small bowl. Stir into batter.

5Pour into greased tube pan.

6Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 25 minutes.

7Cool in pan for several minutes.

8Invert onto serving plate.
