- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. plus 3 Tbsp. warm water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 4 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 c. butter
Directions

1Plan to begin recipe the day before your special dinner. Dissolve yeast in 3 Tbsp. warm water.

2Mix sugar, shortening, water, salt and eggs.

3Stir in yeast and flour.

4Knead thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

5Divide dough in half and roll out into a big circle.

6Brush with 1/2 of the melted butter.

7Cut into 16 pizza-like wedges.

8Roll each wedge from large end to point like a crescent roll.

9Place onto a greased baking sheet or seasoned stone.

10Do the same to the other half of the dough. Allow 32 rolls to rise for about 2 hours in a warm place until doubled in size.

11Bake until golden brown at 350°, about 15 to 20 minutes.
