  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. buttermilk

    Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into bowl. Chip butter into flour and cut until it resembles course meal.

    Add buttermilk and mix until it forms a ball.

    Pat onto waxed paper, 1/4-inch thick.

    Cut with biscuit cutter and place on baking sheet. Preheat oven to 450° and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.

    Serve hot with butter, jam or honey.
