- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1/3 c. cocoa (regular type, dry)
- 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 slightly beaten eggs
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1In saucepan, combine butter, cocoa and 1 cup water; bring to boil.

2Stir constantly.

3Remove from heat; in large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, soda and salt.

4Stir in eggs, buttermilk and vanilla.

5Add cocoa mixture.

6Mix until blended; pour into greased pan.

7Bake at 350° about 25 minutes in 9 x 13-inch pan.
