  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. water

Directions

    Cream margarine and sugar. Add egg yolks, vanilla, soda, salt and water. Sift in flour. Add buttermilk. Beat egg whites until stiff. Beat into mixture. Bake in three 9-inch layer pans at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes. Turn out. Let cool.
