- 8 chicken drumsticks (1 1/2 lb.)
- 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- vegetable oil (as needed)
- 2/3 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
Directions

1Place chicken in a 9-inch square baking dish; pour buttermilk over meat.

2Cover and chill for 1 to 2 hours, turning occasionally.

3Drain.

4Combine flour, salt, pepper and onion powder in a plastic bag.

5Add chicken to bag, close tight and shake to coat.

6Heat 1 inch oil in a large skillet to 325°; add chicken and cook about 10 minutes.

7Turn once, cover, reduce heat and cook 20 minutes, turning often.

8Remove cover and cook 3 more minutes.

9Drain chicken on paper towels.
