Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda

Directions

    Mix all ingredients in a large saucepan, except vanilla. Bring to a boil and cook until forms a soft ball, 238° on candy thermometer.

    Remove from heat; add vanilla and beat until thick. Spread on warm cake.
