- 4 eggs
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 sticks butter
- 3 1/2 c. cake flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp. lemon
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar in bowl and add 1 egg at a time, mixing well.

2Add lemon and vanilla flavoring.

3Mix dry ingredients in separate bowl.

4Alternate, adding buttermilk and dry mixture to creamed butter, egg and sugar mixture.

5Pour into a buttered and floured tube pan.

6Bake at 250° for 1 3/4 hours, checking for doneness with toothpick.

7Start checking at 1 hour.
