  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk or sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 2 sticks oleo, softened
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cream oleo and sugar until fluffy.

    Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each.

    Mix soda with buttermilk.

    Add buttermilk alternately with flour.

    Mix well.

    Add salt and vanilla and almond extracts.

    Bake in greased and floured tube pan in cold oven at 325°

    for 1 1/4 hours or 1 1/2 hours or until done.

    Allow to cool a few minutes before removing from pan.
