  • 1 c. soft butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. lemon

Directions

    Cream butter, add sugar, add eggs and blend in the dry ingredients.

    Add flavorings and bake in greased tube pan (10-inches) at 325° for 1 hour.

    Cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing cake.
