  • 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water
  • 6 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2 c. buttermilk (just a little warm)

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in water.

    Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar; add Crisco, yeast water and buttermilk.

    Make like biscuit dough and let set in refrigerator overnight.

    Melt butter in pan; roll out rolls and dip in butter; let rise until double (about 4 hours).

    Bake at 350° until brown.
