  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. plus 1 tsp. shortening
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 6 c. flour

    Mix and let rise until doubled in size.

    Knead.

    Make into rolls and let rise again.

    Preheat oven to 450°.
