  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. self rising flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. butternut flavoring

    Cream shortening and sugar until light.

    Add eggs.

    Beat for 1 minute at high speed.

    Add 1 cup of flour, beating for 1 minute. Add rest of flour alternately with milk.

    Add flavoring.

    Mix well. Bake 1 hour at 325° and then turn up heat to 350° for 10 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
