- butternut squash
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/2 tsp. each: salt and pepper
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Directions

1Wash off butternut squash.

2Cut squash lengthwise; cut off seed pocket.

3Cut into pieces (usually between 2 and 3 inches). Put butternut squash in baking dish.

4Fill dish about 1/4 inch or a little bit more with water.

5Cover butternut squash with foil in baking dish.

6Cook butternut squash for 60 minutes at 400°. Remove butternut squash from baking dish and water as soon as possible.

7Take butternut squash and slash the meat with dull knife.

8Add the butter, salt, pepper and nutmeg.

9Serve at once. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
