- 3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
- 1/4 c. packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. Hershey's butterscotch chips
- 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

3In a large mixer bowl, beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.

4Add eggs; blend well.

5In small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda and salt.

6Gradually add to butter mixture, mixing well.

7Stir in butterscotch chips and nuts, if desired. Spread in prepared pan.

8Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and center is set.

9Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.

10Makes about 36 bars.
