- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2/3 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Cream butter and brown sugar; beat egg and add to mixture, stirring to blend.

2Sift flour, measure and resift with baking powder.

3Add to other mixture, then add nuts.

4Turn batter into 8-inch square buttered pan and bake in a slow oven (300°) for 25 minutes, until brown.

5Cut squares.

6Makes 12 or 16 squares.
