  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. sifted flour
  • 8 oz. sliced dates
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • confectioners sugar

Directions

    Melt butter and brown sugar on low heat until melted.

    Cool mixture. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift flour and baking powder and add to first mixture.

    Put into greased 8-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes.

    Roll in confectioners sugar.

    Cut into bars.
