- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 1 cup chopped dates
Directions

1In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add sour cream; beat just until combined. Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in butterscotch chips and dates.

2Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased

3. Bake at 425° for 8-12 minutes or until lightly browned and set. Remove to wire racks.
