  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 12 cup lightly packed brown sugar
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 12 cup margarine, softened
  • 2 egg whites, slightly beaten
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flaked coconut
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips

Directions

    Combine 1 cup flour,brown sugar and salt.

    Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs;Press into bottom of greased 9-inch square pan.

    Bake at 350F for 10 minutes.Mix together egg whites,sugar,2 tablespoons of flour and vanilla in a large bowl.

    Add coconut and butterscotch chips;Stir lightly to combine.

    Spoon coconut mixture over baked layer.

    Bake an additional 18 to 20 minutes;Cool before cutting into bars.
