- 1 cabbage lrg head, coarsely shredded
- 1 onion medium, chopped
- 6 tablespoons butter or margarine, divided
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup undiluted
- 8 ounces American cheese Processed, cubed
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup dry bread crumbs
Directions

1Cook cabbage in boiling water until tender; drain.

2In large skillet, saute onion in 5 TBL butter until tender.

3Add soup and mix well.

4Add cheese; cook and stir until melted.

5Remove from heat stir in cabbage and seasonings.

6Pour into an ungreased 2 qt casserole dish.

7In small skillet melt remaining butter, stir in bread crumbs.

8Cook and stir until lightly browned.

9Sprinkle over casserole.
