Cabbage Casserole

  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. salt and pepper
  • 1 head cabbage
  • 2 c. American cheese
  • 1 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. buttered bread crumbs, toasted

Directions

    Brown onion in butter. Add ground beef and brown. Cut cabbage into 1-inch squares. Add to beef mixture. Cook, covered, slowly until tender (about 10 minutes). Add sour cream and cheese. Mix thoroughly.

    Pour into a casserole dish. Top with buttered toasted bread. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes.
