- 1 medium cabbage
- 1 1/2 lb. ground veal or beef
- 1 c. cooked rice
- 1 egg
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 1 medium carrot, grated
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 large can tomatoes
- 4 tsp. chopped chives
Directions

1Core and chop the cabbage.

2Place in boiling water for a few minutes.

3Drain.

4Mix together meat, rice, egg, onion, carrot and salt.

5Mix together sugar, tomatoes and chives.

6In a casserole dish, layer cabbage-meat mixture and tomatoes.

7Bake 1 1/4 hours at 350° or can be cooked in a crock-pot on low 8 hours.
