Cabbage Casserole

- 1/2 head cabbage, chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- cornbread crumbs
Directions

1Cook the first three ingredients in lightly salted water until tender.

2Drain.

3Melt butter in saucepan.

4Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

5Slowly add milk.

6Stir until thickened.

7Add cheese; blend until melted.

8Preheat oven to 325°. Layer the drained cabbage mixture and cheese sauce in a greased casserole.

9Make several layers ending with sauce.

10Bake until bubbly.

11Top with crumbs.

12Return to oven until lightly browned.
