- 1/3 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 6 c. crumbled cornbread
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 4 slices bread (about 2 1/2 c.)
- 1 tsp. dried sage
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 3 c. chicken broth
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450°.

2Lightly grease 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

3Melt butter in skillet; saute celery and onion until tender, about 3 minutes.

4In large mixing bowl, combine cornbread, toasted bread slices, cooked celery and onions, sage and black pepper. Stir broth and eggs into cornbread mixture; blend well.

5Pour into prepared baking pan.

6Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 10 servings.
