Cabbage Casserole

  • 1 small cabbage (shredded)
  • 6 slices bacon (use grease from bacon only)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 c. uncooked rice
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground meat
  • 15 oz. Ragu
  • 3 c. water
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    With grease from bacon, fry onion and rice until onions are tender.

    Put in baking pan with cabbage.

    Brown ground meat on stove.

    Strain and put in pan.

    On stove, heat sauce and water. Put in pan.

    Add salt and pepper.

    Cover and bake at 400° for 50 minutes or until rice is tender.

    Use 9 x 13-inch pan.
