Cabbage In Wine

  • 1 medium white cabbage, cut up
  • 1 c. tomatoes, quartered
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c. red wine
  • 1/4 c. cheese, grated (Romano or Parmesan)
  • 3/4 tsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. fennel seed
  • 1/4 tsp. lemon juice
  • salt to taste

Directions

    Cook onion and cabbage in hot olive oil about 10 minutes.

    Add fennel seed, tomato, salt and sugar.

    Cover and cook for 15 minutes.

    Pour in wine and lemon juice.

    Cook 10 minutes.

    Serve sprinkled with cheese.
