- 1 medium white cabbage, cut up
- 1 c. tomatoes, quartered
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 c. red wine
- 1/4 c. cheese, grated (Romano or Parmesan)
- 3/4 tsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. fennel seed
- 1/4 tsp. lemon juice
- salt to taste
Directions

1Cook onion and cabbage in hot olive oil about 10 minutes.

2Add fennel seed, tomato, salt and sugar.

3Cover and cook for 15 minutes.

4Pour in wine and lemon juice.

5Cook 10 minutes.

6Serve sprinkled with cheese.
