- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. sausage
- 2 eggs
- 5 Tbsp. raw rice
- salt and pepper to taste
- garlic to taste
- 1 large cabbage
- 1 (29 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1/3 c. brown sugar
- 4 Tbsp. lemon juice
- ground ginger to taste
- 2 large chopped onions
Directions

1Parboil cabbage until leaves are softened.

2Cool.

3Mix meat, eggs, rice, salt, pepper and garlic salt.

4Make sauce by putting white and brown sugar in pan with chopped onions.

5Cook until sugar melts.

6Add tomato sauce, lemon juice and ginger.

7Simmer 5 to 10 minutes.

8Place small amount of meat in each cabbage leaf. Fold up like an envelope.

9Add cabbage rolls to sauce and bake, covered, at 350° for 2 hours.

10Turn off heat and leave in oven to cook slowly for one hour more.

11Serve hot.
