Ingredients
- 1 lb. hamburger
- 1/3 c. uncooked rice
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 onion, sliced fine
- 1 egg
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. chopped parsley
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
Directions

1Season hamburger well with salt and pepper and add well beaten egg.

2Mix well and combine with rice.

3Melt shortening; add onion and cook several minutes.

4Combine tomato soup with equal amount of water and add to onion.

5Add parsley, celery, lemon juice, sugar, salt and pepper and cook 10 minutes.

6Wash cabbage leaves and boil until tender.

7Put 2 tablespoons meat mixture in each leaf and roll tightly.

8Secure with a toothpick.

9Place in saucepan (or crock-pot) and pour sauce over rolls.

10Cover pan tightly and cook slowly 3 hours.

11Serve very hot.
