Cabbage Souffle Casserole

  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 3 slices white bread
  • margarine
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Cook cabbage in small amount of water with salt until tender; drain.

    Spread bread slices with margarine.

    Combine eggs and milk; soak bread in egg mixture until soft.

    Add cabbage, cheese, salt and pepper; mix well.

    Pour into greased 2-quart casserole. Bake at 250° for 1 1/2 hours.
