Ingredients

  • 2 lb. beef short ribs
  • 1/2 lb. chicken wings
  • 3 qt. water
  • 2 c. shredded carrots
  • 2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 c. chopped celery
  • 8 c. shredded cabbage
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (1 lb.) can sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
  • 4 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • sour cream

Directions

    Simmer beef ribs, chicken wings and water for 3 hours.

    Remove meat from bones.
  3. 3
    Discard bones.

    Refrigerate meat and broth separately overnight.

    Skim off and discard fat the next day. Combine broth and meat.

    Add other ingredients and simmer for 3 hours.

    Serve in bowls with a dollop of sour cream.
