- 4 medium sweet potatoes
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Directions

1Wash potatoes and boil in their skins, covered for 10 minutes or until nearly tender.

2Make up a syrup with remaining ingredients and cook in a small saucepan over high heat until the syrup coats a spoon, about 3 minutes.

3Preheat oven to 375°.

4When potatoes are cool enough to handle, peel and cut lengthwise.

5Lay in buttered baking dish.

6Pour hot syrup over potatoes and bake uncovered for 30 to 40 minutes.

7Baste during baking.

8Serves 4.
