Candy Coated Nuts

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. walnuts or pecan halves

    Butter sides of heavy 1-quart saucepan.

    In it, mix the sugars and sour cream.

    Stir until sugars melt.

    Cook to soft ball stage (236°).

    Add vanilla.

    Beat until mixture begins to thicken.

    Add nuts.

    Stir until well coated.

    Turn out on greased cookie sheet. Separate into individual pieces.

    Makes 1 pound.
