Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 15/16 cup bread crumbs white
  • 2 cups walnuts coarsely chopped
  • cinnamon to taste

Directions

    In a saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil. Let boil for about 3 minutes, and then add the breadcrumbs. When well mixed, remove from heat, and add the previously whisked yolks.

    Stir well, and put back on heat, to cook the yolks and thicken slightly.

    Finally, add the nuts, and mix everything.

    Remove from heat, and place on a platter.

    Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste.

    Serve cold.
