Canned Pole Beans

  • 1/2 gal. pole beans, snapped
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

    Combine all ingredients in a large pot, then cover with water. Boil, uncovered, for 1 1/2 hours.

    Add hot water as needed.

    Do not let them boil dry.

    When done, pour into jars.

    Water from pot should cover beans in jars.

    Seal with lid and let cool.

    When ready to eat, rinse beans well under cold tap water.

    Place in iron pot with seasoned meat and cover with water.

    Cook on low heat with lid until almost dry.
