Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. Karo (light)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (Eagle)
  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1 lb. pecans (optional)

Directions

    Mix everything together in a 2-quart saucepan.

    Cook over medium heat until hard ball stage (approximately 245°), stirring constantly.

    Remove from heat; add nuts, if used.

    Pour hot liquid into a buttered 13 x 9-inch pan.

    Cool in pan until bottom is not hot to the touch.

    Turn out on a marble slab or lightly buttered surface.

    Cut into cubes and wrap in wax paper or cut into cubes and dip in chocolate.
