  • 30 vanilla caramels or caramel sundae topping
  • 4 c. peeled and sliced apples
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/3 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. almonds or walnuts

Directions

    Melt approximately 30 vanilla caramels over a double boiler or use one jar of caramel sundae topping.

    Pour over apples and place mixture in an unbaked 4-inch shell.

    Combine flour, sugar and cinnamon.

    Cut in butter or margarine until mixture is crumbly. Add almonds or walnuts if desired and sprinkle mixture over pie. Bake at 375° for 55 to 60 minutes.
