  • 1 cup flour
  • 23 cup sugar
  • 1 12 teaspoons baking powder
  • 12 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 12 cup milk
  • 4 -5 apples, medium peeled and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 12 cup chopped pecans
  • 34 cup packed brown sugar
  • 14 cup butter
  • 34 cup water, boiling

Directions

    In a mixing bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and cloves.

    Beat in milk until smooth.

    Stir in the apples and pecans.

    Spoon into an ungreased 2 qt baking dish.

    In another bowl, combine brown sugar, butter and water.

    Pour over batter and bake at 375 for 45-50 minutes.

    Serve warm with ice cream.
