- 2 sticks butter
- 2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 1 (15 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

1Melt the butter in heavy saucepan.

2Stir in the brown sugar, syrup and milk.

3Mix well.

4Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Cook to firm ball stage (245°), stirring frequently.

5(Takes about 15 to 20 minutes.)

6Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

7Put a wooden stick in each apple core and dip in mixture. Place on waxed paper to allow caramel to set.

8Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature.
