- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramel candy
- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 1 c. softened oleo
- 1/3 c. milk
- 2 c. quick oats
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
- 1 c. chopped walnuts or dry roasted peanuts
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease a rectangular pan.

3Heat caramels and milk in a 2-quart saucepan over low heat; stir frequently until smooth.

4Remove from heat.

5Mix flour, brown sugar, soda, salt and egg in a large bowl.

6Stir in butter with a fork until crumbly.

7Press 1/2 of the crumb mixture into the pan.

8Bake for 10 minutes.

9Sprinkle with chips and nuts; drizzle with caramel. Press remaining crumb mixture over the top; bake until golden brown, for 20 to 25 minutes.

10Cool for 30 minutes; cut into bars.
