  • 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
  • 1 1/2 sticks melted margarine
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk (for caramel mixture)
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk (for cake mix)
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Directions

    Melt caramels and evaporated milk and set aside.

    Mix cake mix, margarine, evaporated milk and nuts.

    Press half of mixture in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 6 minutes. Take from oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.

    Pour on melted caramels.

    Crumble the other half of dough mixture on top. Bake at 350° for 15 to 18 minutes.
