  • 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 c. margarine or butter, melted
  • 2/3 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels (about 50)
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts

Directions

    Add to the cake mix 1/3 cup evaporated milk and margarine. Spread 1/2 of mixture in a 9 x 13-inch lightly greased pan.

    Bake at 350° for 6 minutes.

    While baking, melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk.

    Take out of oven; sprinkle with chips and nuts. Drizzle with melted caramels; top with rest of cake mix.

    Bake 20 minutes at 350°.
