  • German chocolate cake mix (no pudding in mix)
  • 2/3 c. evaporated milk
  • 3/4 c. softened butter
  • 1 bag caramels
  • 1 bag chocolate chips (6 oz.)

Directions

    In a bowl, mix cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and butter. In double boiler, melt caramels and add 1/3 cup evaporated milk (or cook in microwave 2 minutes on High, let stand 1 to 2 minutes and cook additional 2 minutes on Medium).

    Spread half of cake mixture in a 9 x 13-inch greased pan.

    Bake 6 minutes.

    Spread chocolate chips over baked cake.

    Spread melted caramel mixture on top of chips.

    Dot rest of cake mixture on top.

    Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until cake is done.
