- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. white Karo syrup
- 1/2 c. butter (not oleo)
- 1 lg. can evaporated milk
- dash of salt
Directions

1Mix sugar, syrup and salt.

2Boil until it spins a thread (232°).

3Reduce heat a little.

4Add butter and milk in small portions, alternating, beginning and ending with butter.

5Cook until it reaches 245°.

6Stir all the time with a wooden spoon. Takes about an hour.

7Pour into buttered 9 X 13 dish to cool (overnight is better).

8Cut into cubes and wrap in wax paper. Note:
