  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. molasses (Old Barrel)
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 c. cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Boil together sugar, molasses and salt to 245°.

    Add butter and cream; boil to 242°.

    Remove from heat.

    Add vanilla.

    Be careful to stir often while cooking, especially near the end.

    Pour into a well buttered 5 x 10-inch pan.

    Cool until cold.

    Cut in small squares and wrap in wax paper.
