- 1 German chocolate cake mix
- 1 1/2 sticks butter
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 6 oz. chocolate chips
- 14 oz. Kraft caramels
Directions

1Melt butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk together.

2Beat into cake mix.

3Add nuts.

4Pour 1/2 cake mixture in bottom of greased 7 x 12-inch pan.

5Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.

6Remove from oven; sprinkle with chocolate chips.

7Melt caramels with the remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk in double boiler.

8Pour over chocolate chips.

9Place rest of cake mixture on top of caramels.

10Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.

11Cool; cut in squares.
