  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. light or dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 10 qt. unsalted popped popcorn
  • 1 large jar dry roasted peanuts

Directions

    Mix first ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil.

    Boil 3 minutes stirring often.

    Remove from heat and add soda.

    Mix well. Pour over popped popcorn and peanuts; mix with a wooden spoon. Place in a flat pan and bake 1 1/2 hours at 200°.

    Stir every 15 minutes.

    Take from oven and store in airtight container after cool.
