  • 1 c. popcorn (when popped it equals about 12 c.)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. peanuts or mixed nuts
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 6 Tbsp. water

Directions

    Pop corn; add nuts and salt.

    In saucepan, melt butter.

    Add brown sugar and water; stir until sugar is dissolved.

    Boil without stirring to soft ball stage (238°).

    Put popped corn and nuts in buttered roaster.

    Pour caramel mixture over them and mix well.

    Bake at 200° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
