  • 1 c. unpopped corn
  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. white corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Pop corn and put into a large roaster or pan.

    Remove all unpopped kernels (if you value your teeth).

    Melt margarine; add syrup, sugar, vanilla and salt.

    Bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes (a good rolling boil).

    Add soda and pour over popcorn. Mix with a wooden spoon and toast in oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes in a 200° oven.

    Pig out.
